Memory Diagnostic Tool is Windows 10’s provided tool to check if your computer has memory problems. This verifies and tests the RAM. It starts with checking the RAM for any faults while working on your system. It helps you to determine if any problem is occurring due to hardware failure including RAM, motherboard, and others.
The Memory Diagnostic Tool displays the reports of any hardware memory component failure.
How to start and use memory diagnostic tool?
Step 1: Open Start Menu, then type “Windows Memory Diagnostic”.
Step 2: Hit Enter. You’ll need to reboot your computer to perform the test. While the test is happening, you won’t be able to use your computer.
To agree to this, click “Restart now and check for problems (recommended).” Be sure to save your work first. Your computer will immediately restart.
Step 3: Let your computer restart and the Windows Memory Diagnostics Tool screen will appear. Just leave it be and let it perform the test. This may take several minutes.
During this process, you’ll see a progress bar and a “Status” message will inform you if any problems have been detected during the process.
After the process, your computer will automatically reboot and return to the Windows desktop. After you log in, the test results will appear.
How to Check for Results?
Step 1: Open the Event Viewer.
Step 2: Navigate to Windows > Logs > System. You’ll see a list of a large number of events. Click “Find” in the right pane
Step 3: Go and type “MemoryDiagnostic” into the box and click “Find Next”. The results will show as well as other details about your RAM.
