How to Screen Capture on Mac Devices

You can record a video of your computer screen using Screenshot in the QuickTime Player app. You can save the recording on your Mac by opening it in the app.

1. Choose File > New Screen Recording in the QuickTime Player app on your Mac to open Screenshot and display the tools.
2. You can control what you record by clicking Options—for example, you can specify where you want to save your screen recording or include the pointer or clicks in the screen recording. Take screenshots or screen recordings, as described in Take screenshots or screen recordings.
3. Press the Record button. Click the Stop Recording button in the menu bar to stop recording (or use the Touch Bar).
4. An app may launch depending on where you saved the recording.
