We all know someone whose Facebook account has been hijacked, most likely an uncle or grandma. It’s critical to set up two-factor authentication on your account to avoid any kind of hacking.
Two-factor authentication adds an extra degree of protection to social media accounts by tying them to multiple devices or applications. Facebook users may use their phone numbers to set up two-factor authentication.
Step 1: Open the Facebook app on your smartphone or tablet.
Step 2: In the lower right corner of the screen, select the three horizontal dots menu icon.
Step 3: Scroll down the list and hit “Settings & Privacy,” then “Settings” from the dropdown menu.
Select “Settings” from the “Settings & Privacy” menu.
Step 4: Select “Security and Login” from the “Security” menu.
Tap “Security and Login.”
Step 5: Choose “Use two-factor authentication” next.
Tap “Use two-factor authentication.”
Step 6: Select “Text Message (SMS)” under “Select a Security Method.”
Tap on the “Text Message (SMS)” option.
Step 7: Select “Continue” after entering your phone number.
Step 8: Your device will get a six-digit code. Select “Continue” after entering it in the text box.
Enter the code that was texted to you and hit “Continue.”
Step 9: Your phone should now have two-factor authentication activated. This code will be sent to your phone if Facebook detects an unusual device attempting to log into your account.
