About Bluesky Social:

Developed by former CEO of Twitter Jack Dorsey, Bluesky is a decentralized social software developed concurrently with Twitter. The social network features a federated design, algorithmic decision, and community-specific moderation similar to Twitter.

Because Bluesky uses an open-source framework developed internally, the AT Protocol, information about its development and construction is transparent to anyone outside the organization.

When Dorsey first announced the Bluesky project in 2019, he was still the CEO of Twitter. He stated that Twitter would support a “small independent team of up to five open source architects, engineers, and designers” who would be tasked with creating a decentralized social media standard, with the initial intention being that Twitter would implement this standard. However, that was before Elon Musk purchased the network, therefore as of late 2022, Bluesky and Twitter are no longer connected. Dorsey has even expressed his dissatisfaction with Musk’s leadership through Bluesky.

Bluesky Social was not a widely known or established platform. here’s a general guide on how you might use it:

Does Bluesky work just like Twitter?

Yes, in a lot of ways. DMs and other advanced features, including adding accounts to lists, are not yet available in Bluesky. Bluesky was first released for iOS users in late February 2024. It was later made available to Android users on April 20.

As we explore Bluesky, with its potential to transform online interactions, Project Bluesky could promote increased creativity, privacy, and user empowerment. We are excited to see what effect Project Bluesky will have on social media in the future as things move forward.
