Fitness and Health
Smartwatches are useful tools for keeping track of one’s fitness. Smart watches include lifestyle-enhancing functions such as pedometers, which track how many steps a user takes throughout the day. They also have a heart rate monitor to keep track of their heart rate when exercising. Other fitness and health capabilities available on smartwatches include sleep monitors that track the quality and quantity of sleep a user gets, ECG monitors, and blood pressure monitors.
Finding Phone and Key
We’ve all been there: you’re heading out for an important meeting or you’re running late for a flight and you can’t find your keys or phone. You can instantly locate your phone using the “Find Your Phone” feature on smartwatches. When you start the find my phone process on your smartwatch, the phone will start ringing at full volume.
All you have to do to use your wristwatch to find a key is connect a specialized key finder to your key, install the key finder’s software on your smartwatch, and click on it whenever you need to find your key.
A wristwatch can play music with or without a phone. Connecting a smartwatch to a phone and picking music from the phone’s music catalog allows users to listen to music on their wrists. New smartwatch models now have a feature that allows users to listen to music without having to connect to their phone. Users can now download and play music on their smartwatch without a phone using a cellular or WiFi connection.
When navigating, holding your phone up to check instructions can be a little inconvenient. While riding or driving, using a phone diverts the driver’s attention, and it’s typically illegal in many countries. Smartwatches eliminate the risk of distracted attention by delivering the information you need right to your wrist. The Apple Watch, for example, provides guidance by vibrating in different ways depending on whether you’re turning right or left.
Make and Receive Calls
You can use your smartwatch to make and receive calls on your smartphone if it is connected to a phone. Users can now make calls without having to link their smartwatch to a phone. Some smartwatch models include a SIM card slot, allowing users to make and receive calls solely through their timepieces.
Smartwatches allow users to check their phone notifications without taking their hands off their wrists. Once connected to a smartphone, smartwatches can get social media notifications, app notifications, and messaging notifications. With a flick of the wrist, users can stay up to date.
